Caiaphas Plots Agaiinst Jesus

“So from that day forth they took counsel that they might put him to death.” (John 11: 45-56)
Caiaphas was a powerful and wily politician, who sacrificed his principles to protect his privileges. He told the priests and Pharisees, “that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.”
Men like Caiaphas are more concerned with their privileges than principles. Their approach to life is characterized by short-term, reactionary thinking rather than by enduring principles and core values. When expediency rules our lives, the end comes to justify the means, and our decisions become fraught with unforeseen risks.
