In describing Jesus’ warning to His disciples about the temptations of sin, Luke used the Greek word “scandalon,” which meant a trap or snare. In our wired world, there are many scandalous Web sites waiting to ensnare anyone who accidentally stumbles upon them. For instance, when I used my computer to research a particular Catholic nursing home for my mother, I made a mistake on a single keystroke and inadvertently opened a pornographic Internet site.
